Montblanc (ACN).- L'Ajuntament de Montblanc va decidir per unanimitat en el ple d'aquest dijous la compra de l'edifici modernista i els terrenys de la cooperativa de la població per 800.000 euros. L'alcalde de Montblanc, Pep Andreu, ha explicat que el celler, una de les catedrals del vi obra de l'arquitecte César Martinell, es rehabilitarà i transformà en un centre de degustació de productes de la terra. Des de la Federació de Cooperatives Agràries de Catalunya s'assegura que la cooperativa de Montblanc ha entrat en un procés de reconversió per l'envelliment de la seva massa social.
